Ingredients-
Bagels
250g lean steak mince (5% fat)
2 tsp black pepper
Iceberg lettuce
Sliced tomatoes
Medium cheddar
Big Mac Sauce:
2 tbsp mayo
1 tbsp gherkin & dill pickle
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard
Begin by removing the lean steak mince from the fridge.
Prepare the Big Mac sauce by mixing together mayo, gherkin & dill pickle, ketchup, and yellow mustard. Place the sauce in the fridge to chill.
Take the mince and add it to a bowl, season with a pinch of salt and a HEAVY pinch of freshly ground black pepper.
Slice the cheddar cheese and tomatoes, and shred the iceberg lettuce. Leave the lettuce in cold water to wash and crisp.
In a pan, add finely sliced onions with a tablespoon of oil and caramelize them slowly over medium heat.
For the burger patties, divide the beef into 4 equal portions and flatten them into thin burger patties, about the size of a mug.
Once the onions are caramelized, set them aside. In the same pan, add the burger patties and fry for 2 minutes per side. Press them down in the pan to flatten.
Remove the burger patties from the pan and place them in an oven tray. Top each patty with cheese and leave them in a warm oven to allow the cheese to melt.
You'll need 1 1/2 bagels per person.
