CHEDDAR & SPRING ONION HASH BROWNS

Ingredients-

  • 500g Grated potato (squeeze out liquid)

  • 100g Grated cheddar

  • 6 Spring onions, finely diced

  • 1 Egg

  • 3 tbsp Corn flour

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Pepper


Instructions-

  1. Prepare the Mixture:

    • In a large bowl, mix together grated potato (squeezed to remove excess liquid), grated cheddar, diced spring onions, egg, corn flour, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  2. Cooking:

    • Heat a small amount of oil in a pan and fry each hash brown for approximately 3 minutes per side.

    • In the last minute, add a teaspoon of butter and flip each hash brown for a buttery finish.

  3. Finish in the Oven:

    • Transfer the cooked hash browns to a baking tray and finish in a hot oven for 3-5 minutes. This ensures the potato inside is fully cooked through.

  4. Serve and Enjoy!

  • Flavour Variations:

    • Greek Style: Use feta cheese and spring onions, serve with tzatziki.

    • Roast Dinner: Add a smaller amount of cheddar, diced leftover meat and veg, serve with gravy.
