EASY SLOW COOKER PULLED PORK

This Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe is a fuss-free way to create mouth-watering pulled pork that's packed with savoury and smoky flavours. The slow cooker does all the work, infusing the meat with the delicious mixture of spices, sugar, and vinegar. It's perfect for wraps, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, or served alongside your favourite sides.

Ingredients-

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 1 tbsp tomato puree

  • 1 tbsp cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 4 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp mixed herbs/oregano/parsley

  • 1/2 tsp salt & pepper

  • 1 kg pork shoulder/leg, skin removed


Instructions-

  • Remove the skin from the pork shoulder or leg if it's still attached.

  • In the slow cooker, add the diced onion, tomato puree, cider vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, brown sugar, mixed herbs (oregano, parsley), salt, and pepper.

  • Place the prepared pork in the slow cooker, coating it with the mixture of ingredients.

  • Turn on the slow cooker and set it to high for 5-6 hours or low for 8-10 hours.

  • After the pork has slow-cooked to perfection, add 2 tablespoons of your favourite BBQ sauce to the slow cooker.

  • Leave the pork in the slow cooker for an additional 30 minutes on low, without the lid, to let the flavours meld.

  • Use two forks to shred the cooked pork into tender strands.

  • Plate up your delicious slow cooker pulled pork, and enjoy!
