SLOW COOKER SWEET & SOUR PORK

A convenient and budget-friendly dish that requires minimal effort. Using lean pork fillet, peppers, and a savoury-sweet sauce. Let your slow cooker do the work, and in just a couple of hours, you'll have a tender and flavourful dish ready to be served over a bed of perfectly cooked rice.

Ingredients-

  • 1 Lean Pork Fillet (approximately 0.5kg)

  • 2 Red Peppers (smaller in size)

  • 1 Small White Onion

  • 4 tbsp Ketchup

  • 4 tbsp White Sugar

  • 1 tbsp Cider Vinegar

  • 1 Inch Ginger, grated

  • 2 Garlic Cloves, grated

  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Cornflour

  • 3 tbsp Cold Water


Instructions-

  1. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker.

  2. Cook on high for 1 1/2 hours.

  3. Remove the pork fillet and dice it into 1 cm strips.

  4. Add the diced pork back into the slow cooker for the last 1/2 hour.

  5. While the pork is finishing, prepare and cook rice using your preferred method.

Serve the sweet and sour pork over rice and enjoy!

Note: The total cooking time is 2 hours on high in the slow cooker.
